Winter

Since winter is finally here, I decided to take a walk, and bring my cellphone for pics.

Six more )
A photo taken from the passenger seat of a moving car. I liked how the road seemed to be swallowed up by the mountains (lava flows from the Teide volcano on Tenerife, Canaries).

And to demonstrate how it would look converted to black and white:

Remains of the Westwall-Siegfriedlinie near the border of France and Germany.

I was in the wrong place and time, really, to take a photo of the Wasserman bunker on Schiermonnikoog: it was near noon, the sun was creating harsh shadows, and to top it all off, it was in the wrong direction.

But by silhouetting the people against the sky, underexposing the foreground, then converting the photo to black & white and add some grain, I think it created quite an atmospheric image. The people on top of the bunker are almost forming a kind of tableau vivant especially for the photograph.

This pile of logs created an interesting pattern. Converting the photo to black and white focuses the eye even more on the pattern.

London Eye

As someone tweeted yesterday: INSTALLING SUMMER.. ███████████████░░░░░░░░░░░░░░ 44% DONE Installation failed. Please try again. 404 error: Season not found.

That... feels very true. And this photo, while taken a few years ago, seems to fit the current summer.

The original photo of the London Eye was rather dull and somber, due to overcast weather. Trying to work with the photo instead of against it, I turned it into black and white and added some film grain to enhance the dreary atmosphere.
Random picked a Sam photo today.

The water from the tap is fascinating Sam.
