This cat was clearly not impressed by the Carnac stones, nor by the droves of tourists coming to gawk at them.

Badlands

The rock formations in Badlands National Park, South Dakota, are very photogenic. Clearly, I wasn't the only one to think so. Having a person in my photo also helps give some scale to the landscape.

Geyser

Jan. 6th, 2015 03:12 pm
The Strokkur Geyser in Iceland, which erupts every several minutes, to the delight of many tourists. I was quite pleased with having captured the initial bubble preceding the eruption, right at the point of breaking and the spout shooting up.

Note of warning: if you ever find yourself in position to watch a geyser, make sure you stand upwind... a trick some of the people in this picture are going to learn the hard way :)

Nyhaven

Pretty classic picture of Nyhavn, Copenhagen. It is a pretty place.

Bergen

This is Bergen, the Norwegian city famous for its old town, Bryggen (pictured) and for its enormous amount of rainfall: 2.250 mm/year, spread over more than 200 rainy days. In fact, it once rained for more than 80 days in a row in Bergen. Guess I got real lucky, huh?

Sun flare

As a general rule, it's not a good idea to photograph against the sun. In this particular case, I think the sun flare adds a little something to the photo.
