Yes, yes, I know, photography rules state that you should focus on the eyes in portraits, human and animal. But sometimes, rules should be broken. This was one of those times....

Three cats

Dec. 25th, 2011 01:43 pm
I found this trio of cats lazing about in a small town in the Picos mountains in Spain. The look on the face of the cat of the right particularly amuses me.

In honor of Duran Duran releasing their 13th album, All You Need Is Now, a photo taken during a signing session in Berlin, six years ago.

Today's pic is a bit of a meta photo, so to speak.

The squirrels around Arosa, Switzerland are used to tourists feeding them nuts. Our hotel even provided a packet we could take along if we went for a hike. The result: fearless squirrel demands to have his photo taken.

Horse's Eye

Random gave me The Eye....

Taken as part of my 2006 photo course/holiday in Spain, when we practicing "portraits". I'm not entirely happy with it, because I think the focus point isn't quite on the eye. Or the beast was about to blink, maybe....

Babies!

I'm expecting to become an auntie again either later today, or tomorrow, depending. In honor of the event, a photo of my nephew (who will be a brother soon), born a few years ago, when he was three months old.

ETA: As of 3.16pm local time, I got a niece!

Since I have to start somewhere, and [personal profile] tanaqui requested cats, here's Sam being lazy.

Cats are always a grateful subject, if sometimes a bit hard to direct, as any cat owner/photographer can tell you. Patience and persistence usually get results, though.

If anyone has any suggestion for further themes to explore, or subjects you like to see more of, do comment!
