Scary...!

A scary face set in the wall of (I presume--it's been too long to remember where exactly I took this) a church in Lucern, Switzerland.

Tables and chairs on top of the Munot fortress tower in Schaffhausen, Switzerland make the best of the round shape of the tower. The pattern's also very obvious in Google maps

Luzern

With this photo, fairly extreme HDR'ing worked out amazingly well. I believe it's because the buildings have a certain fairytale feel to them even in real life.

Another picture taken from "higher ground". In this particular instance: from the old defensive walls of Lucerne. Going by Google maps, I think this is the rooftop of the Tourist Hotel. Which may or may not explain the number of what appear to be bedsheets....

Perhaps a bit of a controversial photo, this public service announcement poster in Luzern, Switzerland. But the idea is simple: if people don't feed the pigeons, they'll have to scrounge for their own food. As a result, less young pigeons will be born (only as much as the natural food sources will sustain). And voila: the city will have solved its pigeon problem, as evidenced by the graph. Certainly a better way than in my hometome, where they deliberated so much that in the end they had to take far more drastic measures than simply "Do Not Feed".

Clearly, the squirrels in the woods around Arosa, Switzerland, are used to people feeding them nuts*. Patience, however, is obviously not their thing....

* It was allowed, the hotels even provided the right kind of nuts so people would feed them squirrel food and not bad stuff.
